AUX SOINS DE
Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Ronald J. Rigney, 76, of Terre Haute passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 31, 1943, in Beech Grove to Max J. and Gladys P. (Powers) Rigney.
Ronald is survived by his son, Ronald J. Rigney II and wife Courtney of Ft. Myers, FL; his soulmate and sweetheart, Donna Trotter of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Dylan Dolinar, Cole Rigney, Scarlett Rigney, and Julian Rigney; and cousins, Sandy, Cheryl, Linda, and JoEllen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Rigney.
Ronald worked in maintenance at Eli Lilly for 33 years. He loved riding his Harley, especially to the Bridgeton Mill and through Brown County State Park. A people person, Ronald never met a stranger. He always saw the good in others, no matter what. He was a collector of antiques and nostalgic items, including Harley shirts, railroad memorabilia, Pepsi memorabilia, and milk jugs. He had a knack for fixing things and would fix things for others, free of charge. Ronald would always say, “It’s all under warranty. The parts and labor are guaranteed.”
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Tuesday, October 20 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Payton officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Guests are required to wear masks while attending visitation and services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany House, 1402 Locust Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Never one to say goodbye, Ron’s favorite saying was “I’ll see you on down the Pecos!”
