Karen Joyce Bruce, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Union Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on December 28, 1946, in Terre Haute to Albert Glen and Margaret Grace (Dean) Johnson. She married Guy A. Bruce on March 28, 1966.
Karen is survived by 53 years, Guy Bruce of Terre Haute; daughter, Dawn Michelle Vasquez and husband David of Terre Haute; son, Scott Alan Bruce and wife Amy of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Caleb Bruce, Caitlyn Bruce, David Shawn Vasquez Jr., and Jared Vasquez, all of Terre Haute; great-granddaughter, Adrianna Bell; brother, Guy Johnson and wife Linda of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin granddaughters, Brittney and Brandon Marquis; and brothers, Darrell Johnson and David Johnson.
Karen worked for many years as a customer service representative at Columbia House/Records. In her younger days, Karen and Guy enjoyed travelling together and bowling. Karen was an avid reader and also enjoyed listening to audiobooks. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. She will be truly missed.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Karen will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
