James William Jones

James W. Jones, 93, of West Terre Haute, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. He was born November 25, 1930 to Lawrence & Marie Jones. He proudly enlisted in the army in 1951 and was introduced to his soulmate, Sue Brown, by her brother who he served with. Upon his return from serving in the Korean War, he married Sue on March 5, 1954. During the next 70 years they built a family & home filled with love and many happy memories shared by all who knew them. He is survived by his wife Sue and two daughters, Teresa Holsinger & Linda Brown (Dave) all of West Terre Haute, IN. Four grandchildren, Heather Holsinger Williams, Josh Holsinger, Dustin Brown, Jessica Smith and their families, including five great-grandchildren. He retired from J I Case after 21 years and went on to weld for several other companies. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends & neighbors he met on his daily walks or projects in his garage. Memorial contributions can be made to The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care/Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Wabash Valley, Inc. Visitation is Friday, June 14, 2024 between 11:00am - 1:00pm at Roselawn with service & military funeral honors starting at 1:00pm.
