James Harrison Gregg Jr.

James "Ace" Harrison Gregg Jr., age 67, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He was born on October 10, 1955 in Terre Haute. Ace was a graduate of Rosedale High School class of 1974 and was on the cross country, baseball and basketball teams. He went on to serve his country in the US Navy. Ace retired from Indiana State University after 42 years of service, where he was the Steam Plant Supervisor. He was instrumental in the design of the current steam plant building. Ace was a member of the Otter Creek Volunteer Fire Department Station 1, serving as secretary and treasurer. While on the department, he was instrumental in the creation of the Otter Creek Volunteer Fire Department Association Station 1 Scholarship Fund with the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. He was a long time member of the ISU Bowling League, serving as their secretary/treasure. Ace was very proud of his 300 game. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harrison Gregg, Sr. and Margaret Campbell Gregg; and an infant brother, Ralph. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Sheila; his children, Lynsey Gregg and Ethan Gregg and wife Kate; his siblings, Dawn Kemper and husband Ron, Jay Gregg and wife Beth, and Jamie Warmouth and husband Steve; his fur grandbabies, Sam and Penny Lane; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 1 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Bates officiating. Interment with Honors will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 am until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials in Ace's name, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Otter Creek Volunteer Fire Department Association Station 1 Scholarship Fund with the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.
