Nécrologie de Virginia Mae "Ginny" Simpson
Virginia Mae "Ginny" Simpson (née Crisler), aged 101, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, passed away on August 25, 2024. Born on March 20, 1923, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Ginny led a life marked by devotion to her family and a zest for adventure that never waned. Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Alexander Simpson, and mother to four children, James Russel Simpson, Leslie Ann Hall, Paul Alan Simpson, and Lauran Elizabeth Weiss. Her life was enriched by her grandchildren, David Fetterman (Amy), Jennifer Fetterman, Scott Fetterman (Ashley), Susan Cash (Benjamin), and Michael Dunn (Megan); and great-grandchildren, Ryan Cash, Morgan Cash, Elon Dunn, August Dunn, and Eleanor Fetterman. She was preceded in death by her sons, James Russel, and Paul Alan Simpson; and her brothers, William, John, and George Crisler, as well as her sister Emily Seifeldt. An avid quilter, Ginny crafted beautiful quilts that she lovingly gifted to family and friends. Her passion for dogs led her to raise Setters with her husband for the show ring and bird hunting. Ginny’s love of adventure never diminished as she aged. In her eighty’s she jumped at the chance to fly in her son-in-law’s glider and happily floated over the Shenandoah Valley in a hot air balloon. She also found joy in gardening, a hobby that brought beauty to her surroundings and peace to her soul. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
