Wilda Jean Shover, 87, of Staunton passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at The Legacy at North Augusta, Staunton.
Born December 24, 1936 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Louise (Shover) Brownlee.
Wilda was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and a resident of The Legacy at North Augusta for the last three and a half years. She retired from American Safety Razor Co. in Verona. Wilda enjoyed traveling with Shenandoah Tours to many destinations in both the U.S. and abroad. She enjoyed visiting with her group of friends at The Legacy, sharing stories about her travels, visiting with the dogs that arrived on Fridays to brighten the resident’s days, the wine socials, and music.
She is survived by her brother, Dale Brownlee and wife, Nancy; nieces, Courtney Long and husband, Chris, and Amber Staton and husband, Brian; great nephews, Christian Long and wife, Mariah, and Cullen Long; great-nieces, Paisley Webster and Claire Staton.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Thornrose Cemetery, 1041 W. Beverly St., Staunton with Pastor Chris Long officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of The Legacy at North Augusta, and the staff of Legacy Hospice.
