Raymond Richard “Ray” Smith, 71, of Verona passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Augusta Health. He was born July 18, 1950 in Yates, NY. Ray was a member of Verona United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the Verona Ruritan Club and the Verona Moose Lodge 2172. Ray greatly enjoyed visiting his friends at the Verona Community Center daily and going fishing. He was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably with the Army. He is survived by many special friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Verona Community Center, 465 Lee Hwy, Verona with Rev. Shawna Hiner and Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Verona Community Center.
