Kimberly Hope Jewart, 46, of Springfield, Virginia, passed away on November 12, 2024, at home under hospice care, surrounded by family.
Kimberly was born in Seoul, South Korea, lived with her family in Virginia, overseas in Germany, as a dance professional in NYC and New Jersey. She attended George Mason University with a major in dance. Kimberly danced professionally with the NYC Ballet and toured as the lead female dancer in “Nixon in China.” She continued in dance throughout her life, teaching and inspiring many young dancers, most recently at the Centreville Dance Theatre.
Kimberly worked for the past several years as Office Manager and Events Coordinator for the Montessori School of Northern Virginia, again touching many young lives, especially through the school’s community service and outreach program.
Kimberly is the mother of Fionn, a senior at Fairfax High School, and Maelyn, a sixth grader at the Hillbrook campus of the Montessori School. Her brother, Eric, sister-in-law MeLissa, niece Julia and nephew Nate reside in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Her father is James Jewart of Worcester Massachusetts, and her mother is Sally Azzato Jewart of Springfield, Virginia. Kimberly is a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Virginia.
Memorial gathering will be held at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road in Springfield, Virginia 22151, on Tuesday, November 26", from 1 :00 to 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life remembrance time will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 at the Sleepy Hollow campus of the Montessori School of Northern Virginia, 3435 SLeepy Hollow Road, Falls Church, Virginia.
