Of Springfield, VA on April 1, 2024, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of 37 years of the late Thomas Lathe; mother of Dawn (Dave) Cain, Preston (Lois) Parker, Jr., and Patrice (Bill) Nowlan; grandmother of 9; great grandmother of 21; sister of Minta Bragg and Robert Judy; and step-mother of Nicole Ervin and Noelle Corbin. She was preceded in passing by siblings Marilyn Vinnick and Herman Judy, Jr. and her former husband Preston Parker.
Donna was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio but was a resident of the DC area for 83 years. She worked for the US Postal Service in Merrifield, VA for 26 years before retiring. She also spent time working with Hope Aid Ministries and the Vietnam Memorial in Culpeper, as well as doing research for the Rocky Versace Memorial Plaza in Alexandria.
She belonged to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 752 in Culpeper and drove an ambulance for the Red Cross. In her free time she was a master gardener who also loved fishing, camping, skiing, singing, reading, crossword puzzles, and writing.
Friends welcome on Saturday, April 27 at 1 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield, VA for a memorial service to celebrate Donna’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Donna’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
