AUX SOINS DE
Woody Funeral Home-Parham
Jean was born in Richmond, VA in 1931. She was raised most of her younger life by her great uncle, Ralph A. Elmore. She attended St. Gertrude High School and RPI (Richmond Professional Institute). Jean married the love of her life, Wade, on June 14, 1952. Wade preceded her in death on April 23, 2019.
Her Italian heritage influenced her love for spaghetti and particularly parmesan cheese, which she would devour by the spoonfuls. She was a stenographer for the Virginia General Assembly. Jean loved the game of golf and holds the record for winning six 9-hole championships at Brandermill Country Club. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Canasta, Mexican Dominos and the slots of which Lady Luck was always with her. Jean enjoyed many summers with her family on the York River and loved catching and eating crabs.
Jean is survived by her sister, Joan Lee Smart of Newport Beach, CA. Her children, Deborah McCann (John) of Huntersville, NC, Doug Warren (Liz) and Carter Warren (Sally) of Richmond, VA. Grandchildren, Hunter Schenk, Holli Snell, Taylor Warren(Mary) and Tucker Warren. Great grandchildren, Edward Schenk IV, Rhodes Schenk and Hunter Warren.
Jean was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Hermitage, At Home Care and Hospice, and Brandermill Woods for their care and kindness given to our mom.
There will be a private burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
