Phyllis J. Hoopingarner

Phyllis J. Hoopingarner, 75, of Ossian, passed away January 12, 2014 at her home. She was born on September 1, 1938 in Whitley County, Indiana to the late Harry and Lillie (Phillips) Kelley. She worked as a receptionist at AALCO Distributing Company. She enjoyed spending her time painting, working with flowers, and making jewelry. Surviving family include her husband, George Hoopingarner; children, Nickey (Juanita) Gordon, Jeffrey (Michelle) Gordon, Kristina (Steve) Bohata; step children, Robin (Dr. Ken) Smith, Vincent (Audra) Hoopingarner; siblings, Roy (Joretta) Kelley, Harold Kelley, Roger (Joann) Kelley, Agnes Hull, Sharon (Dean) Growcock, Leonard (Melinda) Kelley, Wanda (Gene) Herendeen; 10 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Beside her parents, she was preceded in passing by her daughter, Zania Gordon and a granddaughter, Kelsey Gordon. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Wounded Warrior.
