Sophia Elizabeth Christian

Sophia Elizabeth Minor Christian, 87, a native of Virginia Beach, VA, was born November 20, 1935 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is the daughter of Paul and Ruby Neville Minor. Also, she was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC and educated in Orange County Public Schools. On August 21, 1960, she married Thomas Joseph Nelson Christian, Sr. To this union seven children were born. She is predeceased by her parents Paul and Ruby Minor, her husband Thomas J. Christian, Sr., her oldest daughter Vanilla E. Christian, oldest son Thomas J. Christian, Jr., her sisters Nancy Minor Moss and Mable Minor Almond. She leaves behind to continue her legacy surviving children, Paul Christian, Harrol Christian, Shirley Christian Goodwin (Will), Bob Christian (Natasha) and Anita Christian. Her grandchildren Shakenna Lawrence, Lauren Christian, Ashley Christian, Justin Goodwin, Emmanuel Christian, Zachary Christian, Ryan Goodwin and Sydney Christian. Her great grandchildren Dejanae, Deveon, Ciara and her great great granddaughter, Ally and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
