James E. Duke

James Earl “Pop” Duke, 86 passed away February 19, 2018. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Leon and Lucy Duke, served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and retired from Wilson trucking after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 50 years, Tessie, two sons; Chris and Michael, granddaughter, Kimberly, two brothers; Bobby and Gene and his beloved dog, Charlie. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lynn Griffitt (Larry), Timmy Duke (Tammie) and Renee Hein (Steve). Pop was blessed with 5 grandchildren; Jason Duke (Julie),, Justin Swindell, Jared Kilgore (Heather), Morgan Niccoli (Ryan) and Samantha Warner. He also has 7 great grandchildren, Jonah and Asher Duke, Cassidy, Lola, Chelsea, Liam and Ian Kilgore. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held the same day from 11-12:30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23502.
