Nécrologie de Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Talbert
Jacqueline Ann “Jackie” Talbert, 86, of Newburgh, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. She was born August 12, 1938 in New Harmony, IN to the late Jack and Martha (Wilsey) Moore. At age 5, Jackie and her family moved to Evansville, IN, where she attended Vogel Grade School and later graduated from Bosse High School in 1956, receiving the N.O.M.A. Award in typing and shorthand. After graduating, she began working as a secretary at Mead Johnson. She married Jerry Daniels in 1957 and they welcomed a son (Brian Daniels) in 1959. In 1963, Jackie became a Real Estate Broker with Emge Realty, where she worked for 36 years and become one of the most well-known realtors in the tri-state, breaking nearly every record, including those for number of sales and number of listings sold. After 25 years, she remains what some realtors would say, “THE QUEEN!” This is something her and her dear friend Janice Miller would often joke about. She was also a past president of the Evansville Woman’s Jaycee’s Club. Now for the best part! In 1968, she remarried the one and only ‘Mike’ Talbert! They graduated together in 1956, but their love story began in 1968 and never ended. In 1970, they had their daughter (Laura Lynn Talbert). Even though Mike passed away in March of 2020, their story lives on. During their 51 year-long marriage, their only disagreement was about “who loved the other the most.” The beautiful couple’s lives revolved around the love they shared for their family: their children, Brian K. Daniels (Rebecca) and his children, Blake K. Daniels (Breanne) and Hunter M. Daniels (Alexis); and Laura Lynn Talbert and her children, Jace Talbert Bartley (Emma) and Pearce Talbert Bartley. EVERY Sunday Jackie and Mike (“Mom-Mom and Dat”) would fix dinner for the family, and this cherished tradition lasted for 34 years! Mike and Jackie shared a love to be envied. They were always together—eating every meal, shopping, visiting, making decisions, and going to church. Jackie and Mike attended Crossroads Christian Church together for 18 years, where they found their forever friends in their bible study and 242 group. They later became members of The Living Word Church in Newburgh, IN. Jackie was a person that strived for perfection; every outfit and clothes had to match and her hair was always perfect. She always made sure her children and grandchildren were dressed to the same standards and blessed them in many ways. If you were a friend of Jackie’s – you knew it! She never talked behind your back, and always gave the best advice. If you asked Jackie a question – Be prepared for her answer. She was honest about her feelings and opinions. It’s been said, “Do you know Jackie Talbert? Isn’t she something?”. She always said she wanted those words on her tombstone! Jackie is also survived by her dear sister and best friend, Bettye Dietsch and her 4 great grandchildren, Blair Daniels, Sophie Bartley, Harrison Daniels and Burke Daniels. A Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Tommy Epperson with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNewburghChapel.com.
