Wilmer E. “Sam” Campbell, 85 years of age died Sunday May 12th, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 1st, 1927 in Pekin, Indiana to the late Emmett and Maggie (Brown) Campbell and “Sam” always returned to his hometown of Pekin to drive his antique Model “A” Ford in the 4th of July Parade. He was a Glazier with Wolf Glass Co. for some 40 years until his retirement and a member of the Glazier Union #1529 in Louisville, KY. “Sam” was an Army Air Corp veteran of W.W. #2 and a lifetime member of Bonnie Sloan Post #28 American Legion. He loved his hobbies of woodworking and antique cars and trucks. He was a 50 year member of Manzanita Tribe of Redmen #276, commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Julian Carroll in 1977 and a member of Central Christian Church in New Albany. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a wife Betty Campbell, brother Irvin Campbell and a sister Gladys Rickard.

Wife of 23 years: Rita M. Kaninenberg Anderson Campbell
Son: Irvin Campbell and wife Patty New Albany, IN
Step-Daughters: Theresa Morton New Caney, TX
Mindy Anderson and husband Tom Trich Jeffersonville, IN
Five Grandchildren: Larry and Troy Campbell, Toni Bullock (Doug), Amanda Rothrock
(Ahren), and Rebekah Morton and Five Great-Grandchildren……
Reception of family and friends will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday and after 11:00 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Friday May 17th, in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with Full Military Honors. Burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
