Johnie M. Harris

Johnie M. Harris, 86 years of age died Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was born in Big Clifty, KY on September 4, 1927 to the late Charles K. and Sudie Ethel (Drane) Harris. Mr. Harris was a retired employee after some 32 years with Brown Williamson Co. a member of International Association of Machinists Local #681 and was an Army Veteran of W.W. II. He was the widower of Helen Marie (Frisch) Harris to whom he was married to for some 57 years until her passing. Johnie loved his family and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Ethel Mae Mattingly
and two brothers Joseph Alfred and Charles Edward “Boy” Harris.
Survivors include:
Three Children: John Harris and wife Djuana
Mark Harris and wife Christine
Marie Dunham and husband Fred
Eight Grandchildren: Daniel, Josh, Jim, Erin, Elizabeth, Alaina, Heather and Chris.
Three Great-Grandchildren: Vanessa, Kai, and Van.
Life Time Friend: Geneva Wilson
Two Sisters: Dorothy A. Miller and Mary Lou Jackson and husband Carl
Also Surviving are many nieces and nephews
Reception of Family and Friends will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday August 29th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be after 11:00 am CST Saturday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Clarkson, KY. His Funeral Liturgy will be held 1:00 pm CST Saturday August 30th, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, KY. Burial to follow in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery in St. Paul KY.
