Dovie Summers Wright

Dovie Summers Wright, 97, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 at her home in Florida. Dovie was born in McKee, Kentucky on January 25, 1926 to the late Robert Lee Summers and Minnie Ellen (Cole) Summers. Along with her late husband, Denzil "D.F." Wright, she owned and operated the old D.F. Wright Plumbing in New Albany. Dovie was a devoted wife and mother, loved baking, gardening, and hosting a barbeque at her home. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Francus, Alice Bryant (Richard), Nancy Amster; sister, Lucille Saltsgaver; grandchildren, Michael Bryant, Monica Link-Amster, Joshua Bryant, Noah Amster, Ashley Francus, and Lucy Amster; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday in the funeral home chapel. Dovie will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2778 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150.
