Nécrologie de Janet Wake
Janet Wake, 95, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024. A lifelong resident of Muncie, she was a daughter to the late Herman and Helen Green. After graduating from Burris High School, Janet went on to attend Indiana University, where she was a member of the swim team. This helped to foster her love of instructing others on how to swim through the Red Cross. She was an entrepreneur starting her own business, renting and owning properties around Ball State. Janet also was a faithful supporter of The Book Shop in Muncie. Janet also enjoyed animals, gardening, birds, and nature. What mattered most to her was her love for her family and her unwavering faith. Janet was a faithful member of her church and was involved in many leadership roles over her years of attendance. Janet is survived by her children, Dave (Phyllis) Gable, Greg (Carol Dobbs) Gable, Beth (Terry) Bilby, and Jon (Dee) Gable; grandchildren, David, Alison, Stephanie, Kim, Heather, Aaron, Seth, Kersea, and Karlee; nineteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Melissa; and a nephew, Matt. In addition to both of her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Wake; a brother, Richard Green; and a granddaughter, Christy Bilby. Services are being entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue Muncie, Indiana 47304. Memorial services are being held on Saturday, June 22, 2023, at 1:30 pm with visitation starting 30 minutes prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory can be made to the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), 1209 West Riggin Road Muncie, Indiana 47303, or at https://www.munciearf.com/donate-arf.
