Candace Elaine Ground, 73, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Vincent Heart Center surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Marion, Indiana on Thursday, December 9, 1948, the only daughter of Charles Edward Davis and Alta (Lake) Davis. She graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1966, and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. She was wed in a beautiful union with her loving husband, David Ground, on May 16, 1997, they recently celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary. For most of her career, Candace worked at Gateway Association in Anderson, Indiana in an effort to support children in need. Candace enjoyed socializing poolside, spending time with her family, and later on in life, traveling. She loved her two dogs, Ally and Olive more than anything.
Survivors include her husband, David Ground; her sons, Zach L. Alexander and Bryce D. Alexander; her daughter, Holly A. Corsentino (Joseph A.); David’s sons, Thomas Ground (Kristi) and Timothy Ground (Sarah); grandchildren, Robert J. and Olivia J. Corsentino; and step-grandchildren, Caleb, Dalton, Caitlynn, Ella and Olivia.
She was preceded in passing by her loving parents, Charles Edward Davis and Alta (Lake) Davis.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
