James Norman Canada III passed peacefully on July 4, 2024.
He was born on July 9, 1958 in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late James Norman Canada II and Esther Pringle Canada. The family later moved to Kentucky before settling in West Virginia. After graduating high school, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Josie Canada, of 30 years; three sons Raul (Danielle) of Midlothian, Joel (Jamie) of Powhatan, and Sonny (Jessa Jane) of Powhatan; daughter Jennifer (Cale) of Powhatan; and eight grandchildren Julian (Amber), Jadyn, Ronni, Brooklynn, Danica, Preston, Tiffany, and Nolan. He is also survived by two sisters Carol Sunderland (Donnie) and Leslie Smith (Rod); one brother Paul; two step-brothers Dart and Mike (Kris); his in-laws Jorge and Martha of Puerto Rico; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Jim was the owner of Eagle Tele-Services, Inc. for over 20 years with employees in 9 states and Puerto Rico. He was a man of many talents and loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling to Caribbean destinations, sunsets, meeting new people, and making people laugh. Jim will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew him.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 11th at 12:00 pm at Woody Funeral home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, VA 23113. A Funeral Service will follow immediately afterwards beginning at 1:00 pm.
