HEINZ, Mrs. Eleanor Vogel, 76, of Midlothian, passed away peacefully March 31, 2020 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on March 13, 1944 in Bethlehem, PA to proud parents Emanuel and Helen Vogel. Eleanor was predeceased by her adoring husband Robert (Bob), and nephew Michael Paulson. Eleanor met Bob while he was studying at Lehigh University and they married in 1967. Eleanor’s professional life was inspired while working at Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. She later went on to earn a teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and spent several years teaching pre-Kindergarten at Robious Elementary School. Eleanor was also involved in her church - Manakin Episcopal Church - and taught church school for many years, eventually becoming Director of Christian Education. She had a special gift with children and dedicated her life to motherhood, teaching and ministry. Eleanor is survived by her three loving children, Laura, Kristin, and Eric; grandchildren Alex Klotz, Seth Klotz and Liam Klotz; as well as her two sisters, Patricia Paulson and Charlotte Vogel; and nephew, Anthony Paulson. Eleanor influenced the lives of many with her wisdom, laughter, encouragement, and generous spirit. In light of the current public health events, the family will be holding a private burial with a celebration of Eleanor’s life at later date. To continue Eleanor’s caring spirit and devotion to youth, donations can be made in Eleanor’s honor to Noah’s Children, a local organization to support families of children in palliative care or to the youth ministries at Manakin Episcopal Church. https://www.noahschildren.org/support-us https://manakin.org/giving/
