Sara T. Cheely

CHEELY, Sara T., 79, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord, January 17, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Claude C. Cheely; children, Claudia D. Cheely, Gregory T. Cheely (Cindy), Linda C. Stewart (Roger A.); grandchildren, Madison T. Stewart, Alexander G. Stewart, Michael A. Stewart, G. Hunter Cheely; brother, John M. Townes III (Meredith.) Sara graduated from John Marshall High School in 1952, and RPI in 1956. She retired from Hermitage Methodist Home as Director of Admissions after 34 years of service, and she was an active member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church since 1970. Sara and Claude were active members of the Virginia Ramblers HRRVC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 .pm. Tuesday, January 21, at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at Ginter Park United Methodist Church, 1010 W. Laburnum Ave., Richmond. Interment at a later date.
