Lois “Rudy” Duff Hunter, 80, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at her residence.
She was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late Frank Morris Hunter, Jr.
Born March 11, 1944, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Delma Duff and Rosa Rucker Duff. Mrs. Hunter is also preceded in death by four siblings, Elwood Duff, Clyde Duff, Herbert Duff, and Barbara Dodge.
Mrs. Hunter was a retired Dental Assistant at the Central Virginia Training Center and she was also a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She loved her dog Casper very much and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Hunter and his wife Yvette of Madison Heights and Todd Hunter and his wife Jenifer of Suffolk; one daughter, Amy Greene and her husband Eric of Amherst; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff at Runk and Pratt’s Liberty Ridge, Centra Hospice, Karen Jamerson, and Etta Tuggle for the impeccable care they gave Lois.
A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Monelison Volunteer Fire Department, 133 Amer Cir, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
Whitten Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Monelison Chapel is serving the family.
