Frances Drumheller Carroll, 93, of Madison Heights, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Guggenheimer Hospice Unit. She was the loving wife of the late Willie Nelson Carroll for 45 years.
Born on December 19, 1923 in Schuyler, VA, she was the daughter of the late John H. Drumheller and Lillian Hall Drumheller. Frances graduated from Schuyler High School in 1943 and worked for GE for 20 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed helping her sons raise her grandchildren. Her love for her family was evident in this simple act of kindness.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 4 half-brothers and 1 half-sister.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Johnny Carroll and wife Donna of Madison Heights and Barry Carroll and wife Leigh Anne of Bedford; five grandchildren, J.W. Carroll and wife Lindsay of Forest, Sarah Anne Carroll, Nelson Carroll, Lamie Carroll, and Emily Carroll all of Bedford; two great grandchildren, Alayna and Landon Carroll of Forest; two sisters, Ruby Carrico and Dolly Coleman both of Madison Heights; and numerous friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor J. D. Surbaugh, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 1 pm at the cemetery and at other times at her sister, Dolly Coleman’s residence, 112 Long Pine Drive, Madison Heights.
