Claudia Richey Nicholas

Claudia Richey Nicholas, born on July 20, 1933, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, at the age of 91. Claudia was a woman of many talents and deep love for her family. She had a passion for crocheting, often creating beautiful pieces for those she loved. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Claudia was an avid reader, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She also had a special talent for sewing and could often be found on her porch, spending hours in conversation with those she held dear. Claudia had a soft spot for cats and took great joy in spoiling them. Claudia is survived by her loving children: Katherine Marshall, Marvin C. Wilson, Author M. Wilson, Brenda K. Crews, Susie Lynn Baumgartner, Sara Lee Nicholas, and Jeanie Gallier. She was a beloved grandmother to 15 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Eric Nicholas, her husband, Montague Mason Nicholas Jr., her parents, Robert and Ada Richey, and numerous brothers and sisters. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. at Meade Cemetery in Madison Heights, Virginia. Marvin C. Wilson will be officiating the service. The family is being assisted by Whitten Monelison Chapel. Claudia's warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
