Bernard Wilson Nuckols Jr.

Bernard Wilson Nuckols, Jr., 76, of Amherst passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Katherine Dewhirst Nuckols. Born on November 9, 1944 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Bernard Wilson Nuckols and Myra Lou Tomlin Nuckols. Bernard retired from George E. Jones Construction Company. He enjoyed working with small engines and working in his garden. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Martin. Bernard is survived by his wife, Katherine Nuckols; children, Jackie Tomlinson and husband Paige, Eddie Nuckols and wife Carolyn, and Cherie Kahakua and husband Josh; step-sons, Christopher Dewhirst and Kevin Butler; sister, Ann Horne; and numerous grandchildren, one great granddaughter and other family members. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Allen George officiating.
