Virginia Viar Jones

Virginia Viar Jones, 98, of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on August 23, 1923 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Alfred W. Viar and Virgie L. Viar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce "B.B" Jones, Jr. and four brothers, Charlie Viar, Junior Viar, Samuel Viar and Ernest Viar, Sr. Virginia devoted her life to her family and was a proud homemaker. Her greatest joy came from being with her husband, daughter and granddaughter. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia J. Scruggs; granddaughter Tracy D. Mitchell and a sister, Geraldine Moore. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor David Turner officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Virginia’s name to a charity of your choice.
