Ross L. Gilbert, Sr., 66 of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024.
He was born in Lynchburg on February 3, 1958, son of the late Henry Loving Gilbert and Esther Mae Gilbert.
Ross was a member of Shekinah Glory Baptist Church and was retired from Sir Speedy Printing. He enjoyed table tennis, fishing, and loved Virginia Tech football.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Vicky J. Gilbert; two sons, Ross Gilbert, Jr. and wife Chrissy and Dr. Jason Gilbert and wife Brittany; a sister, Ann Morris; six grandchildren, Kaydence “Katty Girl” Gilbert, Kierstyn Gilbert, Brooklyn Gilbert, Parker Gilbert (Ross’s Best Buddy), Kennedy Gilbert, and Adeline Gilbert.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Shekinah Glory Baptist Church, 5434 Pleasant Valley Road, Lynchburg, VA where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25th with Rev. A.T. Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to the Centra Hospice care team that took care of Ross in his final months.
