Oscar Ramsey Barrett

Oscar Ramsey Barrett, 90, of Rustburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He was born in Lynchburg on July 9, 1933, son of the late Jake and Elsie Barrett. Oscar was a retired owner/operator in the trucking industry. He loved fishing, camping and working on cars. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie Ann Barrett; two children, Dale Barrett and Gail Barrett; a step-son, Robert Stinnette; three brothers, Raymond Barrett, James Barrett, and Lovelace Barrett; two sisters, Irene Denton and Lucille Walden. Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Wayne Barrett, Joan Cagle and Dennis Barrett (Dale); two stepchildren, Gary Stinnette (Deloma) and Vicky Vaughan (Terry); a sister, Brenda Whitten. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Cumbie Cemetery in Rustburg.
