Charlotte Scott Smith, born February 20, 1937, to William and Bessie Arthur Scott, peacefully passed away in Lynchburg, Virginia, on March 20, 2024. She was the cherished youngest of seven siblings. Charlotte was the devoted wife of the late John Michael Smith and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Throughout her career, Charlotte worked as a dedicated bookkeeper for the construction business, where her meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic were highly regarded. In her leisure time, Charlotte found joy in various hobbies, including crocheting, watching baseball—especially cheering fervently for the Phillies—reading books, and spending serene moments outdoors with her beloved dog. Above all, she treasured the moments spent in the company of her family. Charlotte's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a valued member of Bedford Baptist Church, where her presence and contributions were deeply appreciated. She leaves behind cherished memories for her son, Robert Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family has entrusted arrangements to Whitten Timberlake Chapel, where Charlotte's memory will be honored with the dignity and respect she deserves. Charlotte Scott Smith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her gentle soul find eternal peace and rest.
