Robert "Smokey" Lee Tygart Jr., age 71, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. He was born to Robert Lee Tygart, Sr. and Deana (Richardson) Tygart in Kokomo on December 21, 1950. Smokey retired from Royce's Plastics in Elwood. He was also a foreman at Syndicate Sales for many years. Smokey enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He loved to visit Tygart Lake in West Virginia, which was named after one of his relatives, and also enjoyed visiting Frances Park in Logansport. His favorite quote was "Mighty creature is the germ". He enjoyed watching movies, especially Westerns. He was also intrigued by the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. Smokey loved his children and family. He loved teasing his loving mother, Deana. Smokey wanted his family to remember him by always helping others and he would give his shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He is survived by two sons, Zachary (Tasha) Tygart and Beau Brian Dutton; daughter, Joy Caraveo- Warren; mother, Deana Tygart; granddaughter, Victoria Caraveo-Warren; and sisters, Sandra (Oscar) Young, Vinya (Terry) Dunbar, and Amanda Schneider. He is preceded in death by granddaughter, Isabella Warren; and his father, Robert Lee Tygart Sr. There will be a time of visitation for Robert on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Ellers Mortuary Main Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
