Michael Lynn Harbin, beloved dad, papaw and friend passed away on May 11, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on April 27, 1953 in Kokomo the son of the late James Leland and Lillian Fern (Crowder) Harbin. He was a 1971 graduate of Western High School and retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines in 2012. Mike received the Million Miles Award in 2011 and he was very proud of that accomplishment. He was an avid NASCAR fan especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. Mike’s proudest moments of his life were when his children and grandchildren were born. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his 3 daughters; Jenny (Darrell) Monroe of Peru, Holly Harbin of Peru, and Tammy (Jeremy) Baines of Fort Wayne; 3 grandchildren Noah Monroe, Jaidin Monroe, and Sophie Baines; sister Connie (Ray) Niccum of Bowling Green, Ky; mother of his children Rosanna (Newport) Harbin; special friends, Herrin Malone and Chris Shaw; 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carolyn Harbin, and brother Jim Harbin.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. In accordance with Mike’s wishes cremation will take place. Online condolences may be given at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
