William J. Begue
81, passed away March 18, 2013. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 15, 1931. He received his BS from the College of St. Thomas graduated summa cum laude, Masters and PHD from University of Minnesota in Microbiology and taught medical students while at the University of Kentucky. He served his county in the US Air Force; he was a veteran of the Korean War and retired as a Colonel from the reserves. He was a microbiologist for Eli Lilly for 26 years, retiring in 1993. He attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was a member of Elks, Reserve Association, Retired Officers Association, Air Force Association, Sigma XI and the American Society of Microbiologists. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William J. and Catherine A. (Cross) Begue, his beloved wife Jane Elizabeth (Curtis) Begue, daughter Mary Rose, son John Andrew Begue. He is survived by his children Jane E. (Michael) Irwin, Catherine C. Begue, William J. Begue and granddaughter Kelly (Nick) Lietz. Visitation will be Saturday March 23 from 11 am – 12 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm. Entombment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to St. Elizabeth/Colman Pregnancy and Adoption Service or St Jude Children’s Hospital.
