William "Bill" James Babcock, age 56, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Bill was born August 29, 1968 in Indianapolis to David and Ann (Suesz) Babcock. He graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1986. Bill worked as an electrician and was Vice President of James Babcock, Inc.
Bill was an active member of Nativity Catholic Church and School and served as the Athletic Director. He was also a member of the IUA (Indianapolis Umpire Association) for 23 years. Bill was an avid baseball fan and especially loved the Cincinnati Reds. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret (Devine) Babcock; children, Marina Babcock, Martin Babcock and Daniel Lyster; parents, David and Ann Babcock; brother, Daniel (Betsy) Babcock; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Evelyn Babcock and William and Marie Suesz.
A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th St. Indianapolis, IN 46201. Bill will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scecina Memorial High School (Athletic Department), 5000 Nowland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46201.
