Rosemary Charnes, age 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born on June 7, 1929 to parents Albert Anthony Skowronek and Margaret (McCune) Skowronek. Rosemary attended St. Mary's Catholic school and continued on to have a career in the administrative field as a Secretary before retiring in 1992. On April 2, 1960, Rosemary married Manuel L. Charnes, sharing decades of happy marriage until his death on September 26, 2002.
Rosemary was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a selfless and caring person, willing to provide assistance to all. Her son, Tom, referred to her as "Mother Teresa" for her giving personality.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret; and husband, Manuel L. Charnes. She is survived by her sons, Winston Robert Glidden, Woodbury Thomas Glidden, and Jeffery Lavance Charnes; brothers, Albert Anthony Skowronek Jr. and Charles Emanuel Skowronek; sister, Susan Marie Ross; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 4PM to 8PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Funeral Mass will occur on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11AM located at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46240. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius Catholic Church.
