Nécrologie de Michael "Mike" Marlo
Mike Marlo, 75, passed away peacefully at the home of Jim and Nikki Bush on July 17th, 2024. Mike fought a courageous lifelong battle with mental health challenges but ultimately succumbed to prostate cancer and CHF. Born August 25,1948 in Holiday, Florida Mike was the youngest of 3 children. Mike was proceeded in death by his parents and both siblings. Mike was a highly intelligent man that enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He made friends easily and had a smile that would light up a room. He loved Diet Coke, black coffee with 3/4 cup of vanilla creamer, mint chocolate chip ice cream and everything from Nikki’s kitchen. He loved spending time with Jim and was incredibly thankful for Jim’s kindness in life. Mike was an avid weather enthusiast and was extremely knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with everyone. Mike loved Marilyn Monroe almost as equally as the weather. He could recite fact after fact about her life and death. Mike was a beloved member of the Indianapolis area for 50 years. Mike was an advocate for mental health consumers residing on the Midtown CMHC board from 1994-2019. He resided as Board President of Midtown Consumer Advisory Council from 2010-2019. Mike enjoyed doing interviews with local media to highlight the good works of Midtown Mental Health Center. He also was involved with The Card Shop Creative Art Therapy Program through Midtown. We would like to thank Mike’s care team at Eskenazi Health (Dr. Robles and Dr. Dickens), Midtown Services, Our Hospice of Southern Indiana (Matt), and Careforth (Zoe). “I’ve done and received everything I ever wanted; I feel free as a bird” Mike Marlo 12/2023 In lieu of flowers please take a minute to enjoy a Diet Coke or some mint chocolate chip ice cream and enjoy the simple things in memory of Mike!
