Maryann McDaniel Sherbert

Maryann McDaniel Sherbert, 63, of Indianapolis, departed this life on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born on February 6, 1961 in Indianapolis to the late Elbert Leo "Mac" McDaniel, Jr. and Joan Ries McDaniel. Maryann grew up in Indianapolis and was a graduate of St. Luke’s Catholic School and Bishop Chatard High School. Maryann was also a proud graduate of Indiana University. Maryann was a kind, generous and thoughtful soul to all who knew her. Her smile always brighten the spirits of those she encountered, and her sense of humor is forever memorable. She made friends wherever she ventured and always put the needs of others before her own. She was happiest being with her family and friends. She loved all things IU and was an IU football season ticket holder for many years. She also loved her Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis 500 race with her crew, the beaches of Florida, annual trips with her “Wild Things” girls, her cats, reading a good book and walks with her husband Steve. In addition to her parents, Maryann was also preceded in death by her beloved dog Murphy and favorite feline Reggie. She is survived by her loving husband Steve; her beloved step daughter, Amber and her husband Lt. Col Michael Rivera; grateful siblings, Lee Ann McDaniel Yaggi, Elbert L. “Mick” McDaniel his wife Jennifer, and Steven George McDaniel; dear grandchildren, Micah, Wesley, Avery, Peyton, Leighton and Resnesmae Rivera; her loving niece and nephew, Michael and Madison McDaniel; dear brothers-in-law, James and Thomas Sherbert and a host of longtime friends. A memorial visitation for Maryann will be held on Friday, July 26th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Leppert Mortuaries – Nora, 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240, followed by a time of remembrance at 3:00 PM.
