Maridee (Vendes) Ennis passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior late on the night of August 7, 2024. She was born on July 31, 1942 in Watsonville, California but grew up in Bicknell, Indiana. Her parents were Dr. Walter and Mary Ruthyne Vendes.
Through her education years, she was known as an outstanding scholar and upon graduation in 1960 from Bicknell High School, she was noted as the first student in Bicknell history to have achieved a "Straight A" record through grades 1-12. She continued her education at Indiana University, earning both a Bachelors Degree in 1964 and an MBA in 1965.
Marideen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Joseph (Joe) Ennis, a sister, Ruth Ellen (Vendes) Temple, her husband, Ray, and their daughter Amy and several cousins living in various states of the US, plus one aunt in Phoenix, Arizona.
She taught school in Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and adult education in Virginia while following husband, Joe, during his US Navy Service. Maridee retired in 2011 frin Wiley Publishing Co.
Throughout her life, Maridee was driven to help others. She was always active in an organization to raise funds for University Scholarships for under-resourced, but talented young ladies. She received several recognitions for her work to help these young women achieve their scholastic goals.
Maridee was respected and loved by all whom she worked and associated and will be sincerely missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial service will be help at a later date in her hometown.
Contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association.
