Nécrologie de Kimberly M. Akers
Kimberly Akers was born August 21, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Kathryn Akers. She was the middle sibling to older brother James and younger sister Nicole. From an early age and until her death, Kim demonstrated love, kindness, and compassion for others. She saw the good in everyone and had the gift of making each person she encountered feel extra special. Kim valued authentic relationships and was a trusted confidante to friends and a loyal protector to family. She was there for, and adored everyone, especially her niece Alexis who she often referred to as “my baby.” As a child, Kim participated in Girls Scouts and loved to sing. She attended Lawrence Township Schools and graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1985. Kim was an avid fan of the Indiana Fever and regularly attended games. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Pilgrim Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Kim’s love for sports and music led her to work at Victory Field, Market Square Arena, and Deer Creek Music Center for over 20 years. She was also a dedicated employee at Bank One, Ford Motor Company, and IU Health. Kim was preceded in death by her father John E. Akers and her brother, James Akers. Though she is no longer with us, Kim’s legacy of love and kindness will continue through her survivors: mother, Kathryn Akers; sister Nicole (Arron) Dunlop; niece Alexis Dunlop; aunts Karen Franklin and Mary Torrence; and a host of friends and family. Kim will be greatly missed but will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A visitation for Kimberly will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
