Julie B. Stewart, 64, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 7th, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Julie was born in South Bend, Indiana to Kenneth and Rosalie Reber on January 17th, 1960. She went to school in Plymouth, Indiana. She moved with her parents to Indianapolis her sophomore year and graduated from Pike High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from IUPUI. She worked as a Teacher's Assistant and Substitute Teacher at various elementary schools for many years. She worked with special needs children and Title I reading students. She truly enjoyed working at Beef 'n' Boards Dinner Theatre and as a clerk in the Hallmark shop. Julie was a compassionate person who cared deeply about many things. She loved being around water, whether it was at a lake, the ocean or just a pool. Her passion was reading and keeping things organized. She enjoyed looking back on memories, reminiscing. She had many good friends and all of her friends were important to her. Julie is preceded in death by Kenneth W Reber (Father) and Rosalie (Holmes) Reber (Mother) and her beloved dogs, Buddy, Jackson and Carli. She often referred to Carli as her Angel from GOD. She is survived by Gregory Stewart (spouse), Jeanne Spletzer (half sister), brothers in law, Richard Stewart (Diana) and James Stewart. Nephew Christopher Stewart and Niece Allison Stewart. Also, she is survived by several cousins and their children and grandchildren. Calling will be from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday May 25th, 2024 at the Gothic Chapel located on the grounds of Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. A Memorial Service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Bryan Smith of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Golden Retriever Rescue and Community Education (GRRACE.org) or to the American Cancer Society.
