Gregory Dylan Williams

Life Reflections: On September 27, 1962, Gregory Dylan Williams was born in Indianapolis, Indiana at General Hospital now known as Eskenazi Hospital to Mr. OB Williams Sr. and Ceola C. Webb Williams. He was affectionately known as “Greg” to everyone who knew him. He received his early education at the Indianapolis Head Start Program, Elementary Schools Francis W. Parker Indianapolis Public School #56 and J.K. Lilly Indianapolis Public School #53. Greg attended Arlington High school and received his GED from a school in Ohio. He accepted Christ at an early age at Penick Chapel AME Zion Church where his Grandfather Reverend Frank M. Webb Sr. was the Pastor before he left moved to Ohio. Greg loved to ride his bike everywhere he went. He was an avid sports fanatic! He watched sports as if he was a sports analyst and could tell you who would win the games! Our Mother told us how he would assist her with winning pools at her job! He played Douglass Little League Baseball on the Braves Team. He loved his music and reading the Bible! He studied and knew God’s Word! Greg will be remembered by his brothers: OB Jr., “As a GREAT Chest Player!”, Michael; “He was honest and would tell you how he really felt about you according to the Bible!”, Ronald; “He never bothered anyone!”, Jeffrey; “I remember Greg always being into everything! Just Busy doing things! And always on his bike!” His sisters: Lolita (Frances); “He taught me how to play marbles and he stopped playing with me when I started winning all his marbles!”, Anita (Marilyn); “He was always reading and telling us about the bible! I would always tell him he should have been a Preacher! That was our Brother!” On Sunday January 19th, he was called to his heavenly home! To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! He is now at eternal rest! He was preceded in death by his Father; Mr. OB Williams Sr., Uncle: Jerry Webb Sr., Aunts: Flossie Smith, Mildred Webb, Cousin: Marcus Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his Mother; Ceola C. Webb Williams, sisters: Marilyn (Anita) Gurnell (Edward Jr.), Frances (Lolita) Williams, brothers: OB Williams Jr., Michael, Ronald, and Jeffrey Williams. Uncle: Frank M. Webb Jr. (Portia), Aunts: Rosa Johnson (Ron), Carolyn Webb, and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and nephews, Cousins, and friend Funeral Service for Gregory will be held, 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, 3505 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, all taken place at the Church. Interment will follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery, 4201Millersville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana.
