Nécrologie de Dell Will Sharpe
Dell Will Sharpe was born on February 13, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee to Herman Sharpe and Ophelia Fitzpatrick. At an early age, Dell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended church regularly with his family in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Dell received his formal education in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, graduating from Clarke Training School in 1957. After graduation, Dell moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon arrival in the city, he worked at various jobs with his father, learning how to fix cars, specifically radiators. Dell then worked for Ben Miner’s Radiator Shop. Dell was working at the radiator shop when he met the love of his life, Sandra Lauderdale. They entered into Holy Matrimony on March 10, 1974, and remained married until his passing. They carried their love for over 50 years strong. Dell continued working at the radiator shop owing his own business, Dell Sharpe’s Radiators for over 10 years. Dell closed the radiator shop when he became employed by Detroit Diesel Allison’s where he worked until Retirment after 32 years of service. Dell was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where he was an ordained Deacon and lifelong member. Dell loved motorcycles; he started riding when he arrived in Indianapolis. He was an avid rider and always rode a Harley Davidson if he wasn’t driving his Cadillac. Dell was quiet, gentle and a kind soul. Although, he was a man of a few words, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Our hearts were deeply saddened on Saturday, June 8th, when Dell departed this world. He was preceded in death by his father Herman Sharpe, mother Ophelia Wheeler and daughter Michelle Hart. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his beloved wife Sandra Sharpe, children; Bobbi Moore (Robert), Tracey Sharpe (Kim), Kevin Lauderdale (Felicia), Anthony Sharpe (Sharon) and Dale Sharpe (Marla). Brother Michael Sharpe, sister Jan Wheeler, Cousin Gwen Perkins, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of other siblings, relatives and friends. A visitation for Dell will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1003 W 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46202, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
