Nécrologie de Daniel Alan "Dan" Neeb
Daniel Alan Neeb – “DAN” Daniel or Danno to his friends. Daniel, 60 years young, an American educated architect and creative thinker, went back to the home of the Father on February 8th, 2018 while in his cherished Indianapolis home. Dan’s passing took us all by surprise, he was so full of life and strength that we thought he’d outlive us all. He was a man of the highest personal integrity and honestly who was diplomatic and kind but always a straight shooter. Dan was an architect first and foremost, a designer, a forensic investigator, a Free Mason, a philosopher, a voracious reader, an intellectual coach, a huge racing fan, and an avid golfer. Danno was a truly great friend, a steady man of good counsel who could be relied upon to tell the truth with kindness. He’s been there for each of us in hard times with a strong shoulder to lean on, and has always given more than he received. Dan was a very private man who kept to himself and perhaps at the end when he wasn’t well we could wish he had come to one of us for help. But Daniel lived by his own strict code of privacy, ethics and manliness and he met his end with a solitude and grace that was the very definition of who he was. We will miss you dearly old friend, miss your laughter and wise counsel, miss your terse and curmudgeonly observations, miss your word smithing and design consultations, miss that strong shoulder and that grace. Our hope is that, as your dad the Reverend Robert Neeb would likely say in quoting Dickens, ”…we shall all meet again, where the weary are at rest…” Daniel Alan, we pray you sleep in the peace of our Risen Lord, you will be profoundly missed brother. “…Gentlemen, Start your engines…” Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Robert Neeb, Ferne Neeb (Smith) and his Sister Roberta “Berta” Hartmann (Neeb), of Kettering, OH. He is survived by his brother-in law Roger Hartmann, sister-in law Suzy Hartmann (Kettering, OH) his nieces Amy and Kelly Hartmann, of Columbus, OH and his nephew Scott Hartmann, of Laguna Hills, CA, as well as many good friends – Dan loved his Nieces and Nephew dearly. Visitation will be Friday, February 16th from 4-8pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N Shadeland Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Trissel Cemetery in New Lebanon, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to: Humane Society of Indianapolis. Online condolences may be made to www.feeneyhornakshadeland.com
