Charles Crennell Brandt III of Carmel, Indiana departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 57. Charlie was born August 16, 1966, in Elgin, Illinois to Charles C. & Nancy (Gordon) Brandt. He graduated from Homestead High School in Fort Wayne before earning a degree in Quantitative Business Analysis at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Prior to his passing, Charlie was earning his master’s degree in Catholic Theology at St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry. He was the founder and CEO of KSM Consulting and was a partner at Katz Sapper and Miller (KSM). Charlie had a great zest for life and brought immense joy to those in his presence. To know him was to love him. He was a remarkable friend, mentor, and inspiration to countless others. Charlie’s love, empathy, generosity, and respect for others earned him many enduring relationships throughout his life. His strong faith and altruistic spirit helped him serve as an incredible role model to others. Charlie was fiercely devoted to God and his family. He was an active parishioner of St. Luke Catholic Church and former board member of Catholic Charities. Charlie was a familiar face at daily mass and prayed for all he loved. Charlie was intellectually curious and loved to ask questions. He was perpetually optimistic and full of ideas. His general interest in the lives of others was exhibited through his eagerness for meaningful conversation. Charlie was an avid reader of history, religion, and philosophy. He was passionate about basketball and enjoyed playing golf at Crooked Stick and Woodland Country Club. Charlie took great joy in coaching his kids’ basketball teams. To relax, he enjoyed being out on open water and taking family trips to Marco Island. Whether he was at a live show or alone in his office, you could always find him listening to great music by the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and many others. Charlie was happiest making meaningful memories with his beloved family and friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Brandt and father-in-law, Gill Ring. He is survived by loving wife of 32 years, Kathleen G. (Ring) Brandt; devoted children, Anna, Elizabeth, Mary Kate, Charlie and Michael Brandt; dear father, Charles C. Brandt; dedicated sisters, Elizabeth (John) Bordes and Leslie (Andy) Small; mother-in-law, Gail Ring; in-laws, Tracy (Pat) Beane, Molly (Mike) Mitchell, Nick (Christine) Ring and John (Nicole) Ring and a host of grateful nieces, nephews, cousins and old friends. Visitation for Charlie will be from 3-8pm on Friday, March 22nd at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 23rd at St. Luke Catholic Church at 1:00pm. Interment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Charlie’s name to The Colorectal Cancer Alliance and The Women’s Care Center.
