Richard Carl Albertson

Richard Carl Albertson, age 70, of Merrillville, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Richard is the loving father to Dawn Kpandeyenge, Lisa Hughes, Christopher Albertson, Brian Albertson, and Alyssa Albertson; proud grandfather to Jasmine, Kendall, Christian, Arianna, Josiah, Noah, Landyn and Aneyssa; great-grandfather to Luka and Milo; cherished brother to Mike Albertson and Cathy Horner. Richard grew up in Niles, MI. As a teenager, he loved riding and racing motorcycles. He also enjoyed playing pool with his friends. He retired after many years of service as a CNC machinist at Berry Plastics. He was well known as a family man, whether it was shopping or cooking with the girls for Sunday dinners, going to football games, visiting the gun ranges with the boys, or going to the race track. He really enjoyed camping and the freedom that came with it. He took great pride in fixing things himself and for his children. He was the consummate optimistic who had high hopes, playing the lottery and every day dreaming of hitting it big. Richard will be greatly missed by all his loved ones. Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2024 from 10:30 am until the time of his funeral at 12:30 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322.
