Carol J Dawson

Carol J. Dawson, 86, of Hobart, IN passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was born on August 26, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan. She moved from Hammond, IN, to North Port, FL, back to Hobart, IN. Carol was a retired teacher. She enjoyed her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was so proud to raise, with her husband, a special son to be self-sufficient; Robert, he was a great helper with cooking, crafts, and so much more. Many people doubted Robert would be self-sufficient, but he did it and she was so proud of her Bobby. Her husband was her true love. Carol is survived by her daughter, Susan (Rob) Bateman; sons, Robert, Raymond (Teresa) Dawson, Rick (Jackie) Dawson; grandchildren, Michael (Megan), Christopher, Ryan, Robert (Olivia), Tyler (Megan) Dawson, Stephen (Alisha), Robert, Tommy (Hannah) Bateman, and Ashlyn Soy; great-grandchildren, Mason, Brenden (Abby), Abriella, Evelyn Dawson, Mia, Emma, and Mason Bateman. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Bateman. A committal service will be held at graveside on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Family and Friends will meet at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 10:45 AM before processing to the graveside for a brief committal service at 11:00 AM.
