Joseph "Joe" Michael Erickson

Joseph Michael Erickson, 73, a resident of Harrisonburg passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1951 in Bordentown, NJ and was the son of the late Samuel and Martha Higgins Erickson. Joe attended Madison College and was a member of the first men’s soccer team which participated in the first NCAA Men’s Soccer Team Championship in 1971. He was director of Food Service at JMU for 25 plus years before retiring. Following his retirement, he was purchasing manager for F&M Bank. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Sally H. Erickson; two sons, Ted Erickson and wife, Mallery of Penn Laird and Scott Erickson and wife, Taylor, of Broadway; three grandchildren, Caden, Emerie and Kasen; one brother; and three sisters. Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter, 3550 S.
