Jerlene "Jerri" Whetzel Rosensteel

Jerlene “Jerri” Whetzel Rosensteel, 80, of Fishersville, passed away on January 7, 2024 at Country Meadows Retirement Community where she had resided for a short time. She was born on May 29, 1943 in West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Landis and Gladys Cullers Whetzel. Jerri graduated from Mathias High School and Strayer Business School in Washington, DC. She was employed at the Pentagon for numerous years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking and had previously, along with her husband, been active at the Fishersville Baptist Church. On November 15, 1966, she married Stephen A. Rosensteel who preceded her in death on January 21, 2023. Three nieces and five nephews survive her. In addition to her husband and parents, two sisters, Leona Hahn and Velda Wolfrey, preceded her in death. A visitation for family and friends will be held 10 am, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A funeral service will follow at 11 am, at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Delawder officiating. Burial will be in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery in Mathias, WV.
