Thomas J. Coleman “Tommy “was taken home by angels on August 23, 2023.
Tommy was a lifelong resident of Hampton born on July 16, 1942, to Pete and Annie Coleman. Besides his parents Tommy was preceded in death by his sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Carol and Eddie Hicks as well as sister-in-law, Barbara Watkins and extended family member Vickie Lawerence.
He leaves his loving wife of 59 yrs. Mary “Weasy” Coleman and two sons that meant the world to him, Brian J. Coleman & David M. Coleman both of Hampton. Also surviving is his loving sister & her husband, Jackie & Bubba Adams of Hampton, VA., both of whom were always there to give support and a helping hand. Additional survivors include Tommy’s brother, Bobby Coleman and wife Jeanne of Reston, VA. As well as brother-in-law Randy Watkins of Hampton, Va.
Tommy was fortunate enough to have extended family Joey Lawrence, his daughter Faith who Tommy considered to be a granddaughter, both of Hampton, Va., and his special “Buddy” Colin Shafer of Chestermere, Alberta Canada. He also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews and close friends who he always gave a helping hand.
Tommy retired from the Daily Press after 30 years of service. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church of Hampton.
