Raybelle Pickin Wilson, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 12, 2016. She was a charter member of Poquoson Baptist Church. She was a polio survivor in 1955. She enjoyed collecting dolls and opened Raybelle’s Doll Hospital. She also had a love of needlepoint, sewing, crafts, reading the Bible and spending time with family. She loved the beach and lived for a period of time in Nags Head, NC.
Raybelle was preceded in rest by her husband of 39 years, Charles “Woodie” Wilson; grandson, Ryan Wilson; parents, Raymond and Anna Belle Pickin; and sister, Elizabeth Creekmore. She is survived by her children, George Link (Pam), Marty Slayton (Ken), Jo Hobgood, Greg Link, April Allen, Dudley Wilson (Glenda), Donna Valenzuela, Troy Link (Kim), and Amy Rayle (Nate); siblings, Mason Pickin, John Pickin (Jean), and Mary Ann Pearce; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:30 pm, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Raybelle’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes or your charity of choice.
